Weekend~First a final goodbye to a good friend
How am I? Pretty good, I guess.
Thursday went to the hospital and found out my stitches will come out this week. Another shot. Then headed to the funeral home that was next door.
Did the traditional bowing. I didn’t have to but I felt like I should. I can’t really explain it. Of course everyone was staring at the foreigner. Whatever. Talked with her husband who hasn’t seen me in awhile. He was all “She told me you lost weight but wow. Also, heard you were sick.” We talked a little more. I met her mom and she hugged me.
Me and my current co-teacher went to sit with some other teachers that went earlier and the vice principal. They had refreshments, but I cannot eat in a room like that. I just can’t. I barely could drink water. Then hearing her mom cry. No. That was getting to me. The family had the body there. I cannot and will not eat knowing that someone I care about is dead in the room. I feel like it’s somehow not right and almost disrespectful. I can’t even explain why I feel this way but I do. The vice principal told me I could leave. She didn’t want me too uncomfortable on the floor which was getting to me. And they saw I wasn’t going to touch anything to eat even a tiny bite.
So I came home and cooked. But I felt a lot better like I had closed that chapter in life.
Then of course it’s a three-day weekend. So I got to be lazy Friday. Ok, I updated my resume and checked about the documents I’ll need. Submitted my application to Korvia. Gonna try them again. Then I watched random shows haha.
Got some rest this weekend. Actually left Yangpyeong after a month of not traveling anywhere besides the hospital and school. Thought I would go crazy.
So I went to Costco yesterday to stock up on meats for the next month or two. Got a router to finally hook up wifi.
Yep over 2 years and I didn’t have my own wifi. There was wifi in the building that stopped 3 days ago and I was like screw it, I’ll get my own. Granted everything was in Korean. Took me like 15~20 minutes though so not bad.
Bought some candy for the kids. Can’t believe Lawry’s season salt for a huge thing was like $4 and places in Itaewon charge $10 for a bottle smaller. Insane. Got my bacon too~ Which reminds me I should cook breakfast. ^.^
The subway ride wasn’t bad. I forgot how much I love the scenery. Met a nice lady talking about her two sons who go to Columbia University and Harvard. Which was like um…ok??? Pictures? Ages? Major? Status? I need these details ahjumma~
Got home separated meat. Ordered pizza. Watched some dramas. She was pretty…man that drama had me freaking out. I normally don’t yell at anything besides students but that one deserves it all. Siwon is shockingly a good actor. I have grown to like him a lot.
I’ll have to write a post about that alone.
The drama of D-day always gets me. It’s so dramatic and I love it. Though I should probably switch which drama I watch first.
Also Mr. Shy…another update to make later.
But first bacon. Bacon=love
