Surgery in a Korean hospital in the countryside

This is my first surgery besides getting all my wisdom teeth out when I was 12. It just finished an hour ago. Who would have thought that I would be getting surgery in a Korean hospital in the countryside? Craziness, right?

It was on my upper leg/thigh/butt area. So basically they saw all of my backside up close and personal. Welp.

I was awake, they just numbed that leg though my other one had a slight numbness. Took almost an hour for the guy to find a spot in my back. Stuck me like 5 or 6 times then finally called in another guy (one that rolled me into operation…cute too hehe) to bring in a machine that would allow needle happy man to stick me in the right place. Never wanted to stick someone so bad in my life with a needle. It hurts in the back when they are going in constantly like that. Good grief.

My doctor came in to make sure everything was set up and started. Didn’t even feel the cuts. I’ll feel them soon since my foot isn’t as numb like before and it’s been roughly an hour since it was done.

They wouldn’t let me see! Not that I could exactly from my position but they didn’t give me a chance. Not like I would pass out. Bleh.

Anyways, I chilled to kpop music someone was already playing while they…vacuumed(?) out the horrible infection. It sounded like a vacuum at least. Suction. Whatever vacuum~

He sewed me up but left a hole. I’m curious as to why they do that. There has to be a reason. Anyways, I knew when he was sewing just didn’t feel the pain part. Then bam done.

A 30 minute surgery turned into a 2 hour surgery. Oh well. I think they did a good job. We’ll see how well it heals up.

I haven’t eaten or had anything to drink since yesterday. I’m dying for water. My body isn’t but my mouth and throat thinks we got deserted on an island far away in 100000 degree weather.

I get to eat and drink in the morning so…14ish hours? Yay. The menu is like a diet menu and with my sesame allergy super diet. So weightloss secret: hospital edition. Haha

I think that’s it. My co-teacher has been basically my family through this. Thank goodness I have her. My parents know and glad I have someone to check in on me.

Now my arm is dying. I did well to last this long.

Until next time~! Probably later or tomorrow. I’m in here until next week.
