Only a month left in Seoul…
So, I have a little over a month left in Seoul. I’m honestly feeling so happy about this.
Why? I’m moving to a completely different area in Korea. My friends are here, so I’m sad about that. However, I will still be in the country.
I decided not to go home because well things are way too crazy in the US. I am definitely safer here. However, I needed to leave Gangnam…Seoul.
I have had some good times in Seoul but living here has been rough. My first job went under, had to sue and this job has been shady with pay. This is the least I have been paid ever and I have to pay for my own place on top of it. It’s been super tough this year.
My last job that I had for 2 years was honestly not that bad compared to the first one and this one. I worked all the time, but honestly I did that partially to myself when I opened up more hours. It was needed though to make sure I made enough since each month fluctuated constantly since pay wasn’t consistent. Base pay was low and I needed to pay for my place. Gangnam is not cheap.
In general, living in Seoul is not really my thing. The city is nice, convenient, and with a ton of things to do. However, I’m more of a chill laid back person. I can work hard with no issues and such but I need quietness and nature. I was raised mostly in the suburbs and my grandmother lived in the countryside. I always enjoyed the space and being able to open up the windows and doors for fresh air to come in. Definitely can’t do that here.
In Yangpyeong, I would open up all my windows and it was fine. Didn’t have to worry about people in other buildings possibly looking in or anything. Didn’t have loud drunk people singing at 3am either. Anseong wasn’t bad either besides the stalker thing.
So, I’m moving down south to live in a different area. I will get to explore another part of Korea as a resident. I’m keeping the location a slight mystery for now. And no it’s not Busan. ? Here’s to new adventures.?
Until next time~안녕
