Lazy weekend with popcorn and goodbye kpop?
This weekend I stayed home. I just wanted to rest. It’s the first weekend to do nothing since I have been busy the previous 3 weekends before. Heck, all the weekends this month I was doing something. Between packing, flying to another country, flying to another state, and even a concert, I needed a break.
I also wanted to get my place back in order. I couldn’t do that last weekend with a concert the day after I came back and only one real day to do other things and rest before work the next day. So~ I did most of it Friday evening. It was cooler after it rained too. So it was perfect.
At first, I just cleared off my desk, then I went to clean up everything. Cleared out my suitcases finally and tossed two of them. One barely made it back to Korea from the states and the other one I had from when I first moved here. The first one I mentioned was the one I bought for Europe. So in a matter of 6~7 months, it’s been 15 flights along with a ton of lifting up and down stairs. It did well.
I tossed out the CDs. I had them for sale at one point. But ended that right before the Europe trip because people didn’t understand how to respect privacy. So, I tossed them out. The money was already spent and it’s at that point I don’t even care about the loss. It’s been over a year since I bought a cd. Back then it seemed like a good idea to buy them. I had plans for when I get home to listen to them and such. Yet, for a year or almost a year, I just didn’t see that happening anymore. I’m not going to pack them up to send them via Korea post, won’t take them in my suitcases as they weigh too much themselves and I won’t move with them again. So, the best thing for me personally to do is just to get rid of them asap? Toss them out. Don’t have to worry about people asking about them or anything. And it feels freaking awesome.
It feels like a chapter in my life finally ending. I was a hardcore kpop fan since I was like 12 or 13. I have spent over half of my life (literally) on it. Before youtube and all. I remember waiting for them to post the videos on the artist’s website with the crappy video players and freaking out a new video was uploaded. Or how the fan cafe was basically on the artist’s website and made some pretty good friends back then. There was this website in 2007/2008 called iple that all the kpop stars had accounts on. It was basically another cyworld. You bet I had an account too.
But now I am older. I don’t care much about any of the new groups or new people. I barely care in general. If I hear something I like I will listen to it but don’t expect me to get too hype about any of it. The excitement has died out for the most part.
I don’t know if it’s because since being here it’s so available. It could be the fact that I have run across so many kpop idols by accident I’m sick and tired of it. They lost their appeal. Or it’s because I have seen everyone that I wanted to see. I have been thinking for a while if there’s anyone else I really wanted to see forever and come up with nothing. There’s no one I have to see anymore. Some are impossible and I don’t feel like going through the trouble or dealing with the fans. So my list is done. Maybe, it’s a mixture of it all, but I’m over it. I have other things to focus on. Not even Jaejoong can faze me much these days. Plus, I can spend my money and time in better ways.
Like traveling and saving~! Oh yeah~
Not saying I won’t listen to kpop ever again. I’m just not crazy about it anymore. Never been one of those fans that scream about it or anything. Nothing is worth me screaming unless I am dying for real. Even then that depends on the situation.
Basically, kpop will just be in the mix of all my other music that I listen to.
Now pushing that aside and back on topic. I cleaned up my place completely. And even worked out.
Also, I bought a popcorn maker and popcorn stuff~! I’m really into popcorn in general. Then it hit me it’s way cheaper to make it than to buy it. Plus I won’t have to spend money to travel to and from Seoul for it either. ta-da~ got my own stuff. I just have to master that caramel though.
So um yeah that has been my lazy weekend. Hehe
I’m making some changes to this blog also. So be on the lookout.
Until next time~! (I’m thinking about changing this too.)
