How I spent Hangul Day in Korea
So last Wednesday was Hangul Day, to celebrate the creation of the Korean writing system-Hangul. So my friend Keri and I decided to explore Seoul early. We walked around looking for Jaejoong’s cafe, this time determined and well-rested to search for it again. We found it! Granted it’s on a freaking hill but hey it’s so worth it. Even though I complain every time. Coming to find out last time we went looking for it and have up we walked passed it. Not once but…twice. Yep twice. Each time we remembered a place right from it yet didn’t even look at the building. It’s like clear as day yet we didn’t look in that direction because we were kicking the ground saying things like “This sucks, where could it be?” “Must need special vision to it.” “Ugh…I’ma kick him when I see him.” “WHY JAEJOONG WHY?!” Yep. When we found it there were some girls there but we didn’t think much about it. We went inside, by this point I already started t sweat because we were walking for more than a few minutes and I hate the sun shining on me….-.- Anyways what do I get? Lemonade. Yep. I swear I’m on the hunt for the best lemonade. Even from cafes that celebs own, because they own it doesn’t mean they’ll have the best of anything. Instead it can be super crappy…never know.
Anyways we order and sit down taking in the decorations. I WANT A PILLOW! No lie if I can buy one I so would. I like pillows and I love those ok? We get our drinks and I must say that lemonade is seriously the best one so far. It’s not too tart or sweet. There’s a good balance of ice and lemonade. Just perfect. I’d go back just for that alone. While I’m swaying happily with my lemonade Keri is like “Who is that walking in behind you?” I’m all “Eh? *turns around* ……”
Her: Who is it?
Me: …….*looks and realizes it’s Jaejoong* …..
Her: Aisha?
Me: *makes eye contact with Jae* …. *looks away and looks back only to make eye contact a second time and see him smirk* ……
Her: Aisha who is it?
Me: *turns to look at her and tries to remember any of the languages I know* It’s….*coughs and sighs* Jae….Joong…eye contact…twice….dying….
Her: *cracks up laughing*
Me: *finally turns back to normal* Hey! Gahh…there was a boyband too…Boys Republic maybe?
Her: I was looking at them *laughs*
So yeah I couldn’t even talk at first. I’ve seen plenty of people between last year and this year and that’s the first I’ve done any type of fangirling. If you can call it that. I couldn’t talk. I mean seeing Yesung I was like “Yeah, I’d like a lemonade please. *he talks* Yes, she’s my friend. Nae…blah blah blah.” Last year with MBLAQ “Ooooo so close me likey.” With Jaejoong “………………..*forgets everything*”
I guess you can say he’s my bias of all biases. Like I thought about it the other day. I’ve been into kpop over half of my life and I’m 24. I know about Shinhwa, g.o.d and H.O.T like their old songs with the hair cuts and everything. But I didn’t know about them when they first came out. TVXQ/DBSK/Tohoshinki they were my first group I knew about before they even debuted and followed them until now, even though they are TVXQ and JYJ now. Everything that happened I was following along, was very active on their fanboards (I stopped ages ago life took over), heck I remember being excited when they uploaded Tri-angle on the website. I mean like I was and still am super dedicated to them. My favorite members were always Jaejoong first then Junsu and Yoochun tied for 2nd while Yunho 3rd and Changmin 4th. It’s still that way today. Their songs are like markers in my life. There’s so many emotions that goes along with those guys it’s crazy.
So what I guess I’m trying to say in a long way is seeing Jaejoong was a huge deal for me.
Now after all that we leave and run across Kia making a commercial. We’re like O.o oh…nice. Then we head to Myeongdong only to get in the huge crowd of IU fans. Granted I like her but we were heading to get lunch not smashed to death. Still ended up seeing her while I was trying to get through. After that we ate, walked around and left in which we bumped into SBS filming something.
Then we went back where we were earlier in the day. Saw the Kia commercial still being filmed but inside this time. Saw a few cops in front of SM and was wondering what was going on. Randomly they started doing the moves for EXO’s Growl. Matter of fact I should see if I can find if it’s uploaded anywhere. Then we found Donghae’s Grill5Taco. Way too many fangirls so we went to a BBQ place right up the street from JYP and Cube. Pretty nice way to end an adventurous day I must say.
Sorry this is long, but I didn’t feel like splitting it into parts. If I forgot anything oh well I got what stuck with me down. ^_^ Until next time!
