Changes, changes, and more changes. Most not so good.
So this month has been all over the place. In Korea alone, covid numbers have been constantly breaking records (over 500,000 the other day) yet they are easing the restrictions even more. They are changing the rules every few days it seems. Work is also changing a lot, almost daily too.
Korea covid changes
Just yesterday, the number of how many people can be in a private gathering went from 6 to 8. Korea is also not doing PCR tests as much and just doing the home kits. That has made some people wonder why and if that’s okay since the home tests have given false negatives and positives. Not to mention, people who are positive tend to find out a bit later even if they test negative the day before.
Sick students and teacher
With this in mind, a lot of our students have been sick. We have had two full classes out, either because they are sick or because of the numbers constantly increasing. When we got one class back, another one ended up being out just this week alone.
On top of that we had a teacher that was out for awhile and she was sick. Management never told us anything but it’s not hard to put one and one together. With that teacher out our schedules adjusted a bit.
Another problem
Our schedules changed even more when we found out another teacher just completely quit or decided not to show up after only working four days.
So, the sick teacher is better now and came back on Thursday. Work…Management is struggling to find someone to fill in. Hopefully, they find someone soon because, my schedule is horrible now because of this situation. I barely have any breaks as it is. Now, I have even less breaks. It’s frustrating but we are short-staffed and they aren’t filling up the Korean teacher’s schedules as much. Some are being filled in a lot more. The new ones, honestly I understand why. It just sucks for everyone. However, my schedule is the worst in the office with the least amount of breaks a week. So, I’m not in the best of moods.
Pain
With all of this, I was also in a lot of pain this week. It could be a side-effect from the vaccine because before that, it was never this bad. Also, never so early before that time of the month until recently. Tuesday, no matter how much medicine I took or anything the pain was intense for a few hours straight. Not even a break for at least 5 hours. It was exhausting. Thankfully, I feel better now with minor pains here and there.
So yeah, that has been my week. Full of changes and pain apparently.
