A fun interesting night

So yesterday at work was tiring and slightly upsetting. 3-1 I swear some of those boys just want to make life difficult for everyone.

After having a pretty rough day and messed up week I got a message from Mr. Pilot randomly asking if I was done with work. Then he went on to tell me when he was finished and wondered if I would like to meet up for Korean lessons.

I instantly said yes because well yesterday was crappy and it would be good to end it nicely. I know that I will laugh with him no matter what.

He asked if he could bring one of the girls along that I met last Sunday because she wanted to see me again and I was like “sure~!” I was honestly hoping to see the rest of them again one day. I didn’t want Sunday to be the only time I see them. Plus she’s the one who loves cakes.

Now before you guys ask. They are church friends. She’s born in 1994 and sees him more as a mentor and addresses him as so. He’s born in 1986 and if you guys have forgotten I’m born in 1989. And his birthday was last Tuesday! I was like “WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME?! 아~ 진짜!” He laughed and said he doesn’t see his birthday as being that important so he doesn’t really bother about it. Hmph. I don’t know I have this thing about birthdays of close friends. It means a lot to me because if they were never born I wouldn’t have them as a friend.

Anyways, we met at a cafe. He knows what I like already and ordered it. I practiced Korean. He graded my homework and gave me a 95! A 95! Ok, that’s not bad could have been a lot worse.

His favorite sentence that I made was:

“언젠간 우리는 친한 친구들이 될 것이다. 진짜.” -Someday, we will be close friends. Really.

Being around him is making me learn Korean more because he will switch into it and ask me how much I understand. The girl I will call Miss Cake was laughing at how me and him communicate.

Also, Miss Cake is awesome, she’s like a younger sister. She is almost a year older than my sister. But we get along really well and that made Mr. Pilot happy.

So we studied. I need to practice speaking Korean more, because well I need to. I actually feel like I need to speak it because I want to communicate with them better.

I also have more homework using “따르면” -”According to _______”

I asked them random questions from basics to most embarrassing moment and what they are the most proud of in life so far.

He has three: 1. Being Christian 2. being a helicopter pilot 3. being the person his family can turn to.

We talked about being Christian. I normally don’t talk about religion much. He wasn’t making me feel uncomfortable or anything I felt at ease talking about it. He brought up how his church is having a bible study thing all next week and what they do. Which sounded interesting. He wondered if I would be interested.

I thought about it for a moment. He wasn’t pressuring me at all. I’ve met people from his church and love them. And…I’ve been thinking about finding a church or something. I feel like I need it in my life personally. I can’t really explain it. So I was like sure why not? It’s for a week. Who knows what might happen?

Another reason and main reason why Miss Cake came along is because today he has to go away for a week to take things back to his hometown and to do another training. He wanted to make sure that we would get along well since he won’t be there to take me and make sure I’m ok. She will pick me up all next week. Dinner will be at the church too. I can tell he already talked to her about it if I agreed to go.

He wants me to check in with him every night after I get home to summarize what I understood. I should also write down questions so he can answer them when he comes back. He has to sing Saturday too. Woo~! haha

As you guys can see being a Christian and going to church is a huge part of his life. Most of his friends are from there and the other half from the military. In order for me to understand him more and to be close with the others I think going to the church will help that bond grow. And it will help me personally too,

All in all, I think it’s going to be a good thing for me. It will expose me to the Korean language, I’ll be able to meet more people from this area and build relationships. I won’t feel as lonely out here either. I just wish I had this when I first came here over 2 years ago, but it’s still great to have it now.

We went to eat dinner. Got some delicious chicken and talked about random things. Miss Cake was literally paying attention to us communicating and was entertained by that alone.

I talked about me moving and was like “Don’t you guys think we can’t be friends if I move away.”

He said, “We will always be friends. No matter where you go.”

This man is one of his words. He has proved that time and time again.

We took pictures because he suddenly took out his phone to do it haha. I exchanged phone numbers with Miss Cake. And next thing you know it was almost midnight.

Waling to his car we talked about being early. He was saying Miss Cake will be on time, he made sure of that because he knows I don’t like being late. Then we ended up talking about why the other is always early. He ALWAYS beats me when we meet. Every single time.

I told him that it bothers me because he has to wait. Sadly, we are early for the same reason. We don’t like anyone having to wait for us so we rather be there first and wait. I was like “That’s why I’m always early! But you ALWAYS beat me!” His response was “I’ll wait for you. It’s only right.”

*sighs* I gave up. I will let him win that…for now. At least I know he’s there early and I won’t ever have to wait for him. If I ever do I doubt it will be long. So I will give way and let it be.

He dropped me off and yeah a pretty good ending to a messed up day.

And now I won’t see him for another week.

Oh well, until next time~!
