Recruiters…which ones did I use?
Alrighty recruiters. There’s a ton of them out there! It’s crazy. I applied to maybe six? Something like that. Anyways, didn’t hear from half of them, so I was like whatever.
Hi, Aisha from 2022, it’s crazy how I thought there were a lot of recruiters back then. It was nothing compared to the numbers now. Anyways, back to the original post.
Then there was 3
I was left with three: Korvia, EicoHR, and EZ English.
Korvia
I figured I would try Korvia first since it seems like a ton of people went through them and they know what they are doing. I worked with them for over a month and that was the one trying to get me in Yeoncheon in the end. Though, if it wasn’t for them I would have never kept trying to make my introduction video to the quality it was. So, I thank them for that and I might go through them another year. I really liked my coordinator she was so sweet. Sadly things didn’t work out and I got a job through someone else before she could try to find me more schools.
EicoHR
EicoHR was ok, I did an interview with a girl that was from NY and she was awesome. They asked for copies of my documents, but sadly after that I never got anything back. No love lost.
EZ English
EZ English was the unexpected one. It sounds generic and a bit sketchy right? I randomly found the group on facebook. Weird right? I saw a lady posting positions constantly for both private schools (hagwons) and public schools. I was in the group for like two months and never thought too much about it. When it felt like nothing was really coming through I started asking about the positions and sent in my information.
I think like 2-3 weeks later I heard from the person who runs the company about sending my documents. I was like…eh…idk but then they had a position open somewhere that they wanted me to apply to. I was like alright why not check out the position first? I don’t want to send my documents to someone and not have a job offer. That didn’t seem right.
I talked to the guy that sets up the interviews and everything. It was funny to me since a lot of people says that he’s rude but he’s just really busy typing away. I talked to him and the next thing I know I had an interview scheduled in no time for the next day. Most of the time, if they want an interview they want to hire you. Less than an hour after it, I had a job offer and sent off my documents 2 days later. Took 3 days from getting the email from the boss to signing a contract. So yeah, weirdly enough facebook got me a job. Amazing how that worked out.
