Let’s go to Immigration!
Immigration trip
So yesterday was my “day off/school holiday” so I could go to the immigration office with Mrs. M. It was way in Suwon which took about 2 hours to get to thanks to traffic jams and road construction.
When we got there I filled out the application, took a ticket number that said 21 people were ahead of me. I was sitting there and Mrs. M went somewhere. During that time a lady came up to me and wanted to switch tickets, moving me up over 10 spots. At first I was a bit skeptical but coming to find out she needed to do something and I was like “eh…ok”. Mrs. M came back and I told her and the next thing you know five minutes later I was being called. Good luck I guess.
I handed over my stuff. Then, the immigration lady asked who opened my health report and I told her Mrs. M did. Which she did I can’t read Korean so why should I even bother wrecking my brain over it? Mrs. M had to come up to the desk and told her that she did in fact open it. She didn’t know that she wasn’t allowed to. To be honest no one told her about it. They still took my stuff, I paid my 20,000 won but Mrs. M has to go get my health checked sealed again and then go way back to Suwon to hand deliver it.
Cafe and going home
After all that we went to a cafe to get something to drink and Mrs. M ordered the honey bread that’s pictured in the post below. I liked that cafe; it reminded me of one at home, all calm and nature like.
We finally had time to talk and ask questions about each other. Which was nice. Then, we headed back to Yangpyeong to be stuck in lovely traffic once again.
She dropped me off and I came to work on some lesson plans and then crashed by 6:30pm. Last year I was able to last until 9:30 or later now, I don’t know. I guess I’m still trying to recover from that flight ordeal.
Now for another day of work. I get to meet the 4th graders today and see the 5th graders again.
