A busy day: Meeting students’ parents and an open class

Yes, 3 posts in one day. Nothing else to do really at the moment.

So first, who has crab as lunch in an elementary school? That really surprised me today.

Anyways, today parents came to the school since all this week teachers were talking to them about their children. Then, suddenly I’m called to go to the auditorium where they are having a meeting/assembly. I introduce myself quickly hearing my name being said a few dozen times then I’m out of there to go to an open class.

Those few seconds were nerve-wracking! Seeing parents looking and wondering what they are thinking freaked me out a bit. Never know if they are going to decide they don’t like you just from that. *sigh* I think I did ok though.

Because of meeting the parents we missed the entire open class and came in when they were discussing it. Still was good because questions and ideas were being tossed around. I met some people that work less than 30 minutes away from me! That was amazing. One girl is pretty fluent in Korean which was like :O wah…help me. She was super nice. The one doing the open class decided to become a teacher after her boyfriend was over here for 3 years and she made visits. They are an awesome couple.

I also talked more today than I have since I moved here. Which shocked me alone. Haha, that’s sad. But I got a lot of good ideas today and I don’t know…I feel a bit more at ease. I have an open class on the…first, I swear she told me the second, but it was moved up a day I guess. Makes sense because the day we were having it on, I had no classes.

I have to make a decision between my 6th graders or my 3rd graders. I wouldn’t do fourth because well…no and fifth grade eh…they are good kids, but I’m looking for a certain something. With the sixth grade kids, I can speak more English and they understand and my 3rd graders, the class I’m thinking about, are energetic (almost too much) and really eager to learn. It depends on the lesson too because sometimes my 6th graders get excited too like yesterday and Monday.

Just have to wait and see…and plan hehe

Until next time.~!
