4 weeks in the country and teaching
So Thursday made it 4 weeks since I arrived and Friday made it 4 complete weeks of teaching. It’s amazing how quickly these weeks have flown by. There have been a lot of ups and downs, so far more ups than downs and I hope it stays that way.
Today, thanks to my co-teacher and her husband (who found the awesome deal) I finally got internet and cable installed, couldn’t be happier. And less than $30! I do not understand why I can’t get it that cheap at home with this wonderful speed. I mean seriously what’s the deal?
Then, just like every other week, I go to the grocery store at least once or twice if not more. It depends on how much I get and am willing to carry up all these steps or if I forget something. Since I cook more than I eat out. Which is beneficial and a pain all at the same time. I went Monday to look at the meat prices. Then I went yesterday and again today. I can’t carry all that stuff in one go.
But beef must have gold in it or something. Ok I know they have a certain breed of cows here that tend to produce some pretty nice cuts of beef which can explain the prices. Plus, Korean beef is just so tasty. I haven’t bought any yet because there were a TON of people in the way! *sigh* Got some seafood, chicken, and pork though. HA!
After a while you get tired of eating chicken, ham, bacon, and eggs. Seriously that’s all I had oh and cheese. I mean come on. I was going to start clucking soon.
Anyways, got some meats, and just about everything else is on sale right now in grocery stores. But especially meat because of Chuseok (Korean thanksgiving) is next week! This makes me happy because I can finally stock up my freezer. Seeing it basically empty was weird. Now it’s almost full…I have enough room for when I get beef, whenever that is.
Also bought some tomato paste, spaghetti sauce, barbeque sauce, ketchup. Never been so happy to see BBQ sauce today, especially since yesterday I got some meat that’ll be perfect for BBQ. There’s a lot of other things I have to buy. So everything is coming together slowly.
I have to buy some blankets too. I know kind of random. But I’m horrible when it comes to really hot weather and really cold weather. That’s why I love fall and spring. Through spring I get horrible allergies from the pollen. So, fall has become my favorite season easily because there’s just enough coolness in the air to wear a light jacket and be comfortable. Love it!
Now I need to sign up on some sites so I can get things mailed to me.
Anyways, until next time!
