Third day of winter camp~ ride home?

So I beat everyone to school. Then there are teachers hired for winter camp. Two show up pretty early. New guy tends to show up 2nd or 3rd. Saying hello and such. Though I’m realizing he’s making a point of saying my name. It’s like dude I’m the only one that’s a straight up English speaker, don’t have to say my name each time. And he’s kind of loud. Like why?

My co-teacher didn’t come. She said she wouldn’t today and maybe the rest of the week because of the weather. Funny thing, it was suppose to rain then snow pretty bad. It rained EARLY this morning and was basically dry before I went out. Also way warmer than expected.

Anyways, did my classes. Lunch time came means I can go home. At least that’s how it’s been so far. I asked my co-teacher yesterday and she said “I think so.”

Heck the office ladies were shock I was still there and it was like 12:01. Class ends at 11:50 but I have shut down stuff, go to my class to pack up, and other things. So I left around 12:10ish. Knowing I’d get home by 1.

A student saw me and waved. Making new guy realize I was leaving so he said goodbye.

While walking I was enjoying the weather and listening to music. The walk seriously isn’t that bad. I like it. I can’t wait until it’s warmer. Not hot but where I won’t need all my layers.

All of the sudden  around 8-10minutes from the bridge, I had this feeling a car was slowing down. I turn to look and who is it?

New guy.

Yep. Put down his window to ask where I was going. Where else would I be going besides home? Ok or the grocery store, but I’m only walking from that school once a day.

He told me to get in. Even though I told him it was fine. So yeah ended up with ride from new guy. He asked how I got to school in the mornings (couldn’t do it in English so he asked in Korean in the end) and it’s like uh…taxi and recently I walk home. He wondered why I don’t take the bus. Just no. I’ll do the subway, walk, taxi, and a ride from a co-worker. That’s already out of my comfort zone since I drive at home, but a bus? Here? No thank you. The way they drive? I’d be sick.

Though I don’t know why it matters to him or anyone else. I don’t ask for a ride, I have 2 legs and put them to good use. Plus I need my exercise. If it gets too cold or something I can get a taxi like a 10 minute walk from the school.

I’m very independent with a lot of things. Getting myself home is definitely one of them. I don’t like depending on anyone for that, never did. It’s something I shouldn’t have to worry about. Hence I walk without bothering anyone.

But yeah let’s see how the rest of this week goes. Can’t believe tomorrow is Thursday already. O.o

Until next time~
